DISCLAIMER/WAIVER

PARTICIPATION WAIVER 

(Release of Liability)

In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in THE SKATESIDE athletic/sports program, related events, and activities, the parent/guardian/participant acknowledges and agrees that:

​

  1. The risk of injury from the activities involved in this program is significant, including the potential for permanent paralysis and death.  And while particular rules, equipment, and personal discipline may reduce this risk, the risk of serious injury does exist; and,

  2. I KNOWINGLY AND FREELY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, both known and unknown, EVEN IF ARISING FROM THE NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASES or others.  And assume full responsibility for my participation; and,

  3. I willingly agree to comply with the stated and customary terms and conditions for participation.  If however, I observe any unusual significant hazard during my presence or participation, I will remove myself from participation and bring such attention to the nearest official immediately; and,

  4. I, for myself and on behalf of my heirs, assigns, personal representatives, and next of kin, HEREBY RELEASE AND HOLD HARMLESS THE SKATESIDE their officers, officials, agents, and or employees, whether paid or not, other participants, sponsoring agencies, sponsors, advertisers and if applicable, owners and lessors of premises used to conduct the event (“Releasees”).  WITH RESPECT TO ANY AND ALL INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, or loss or damage to person or property.  WHETHER ARISING FROM NEGLIGENCE OF THE RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE. 

  5. I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHT BY PARTICIPATING, AND PARTICIPATE FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT INDUCEMENT.

PLEASE NOTE: We strongly recommend that each participant have some type of accident medical insurance for his/her own protection.

DISCLAIMERS

  1. Skateboarding is considered an extreme sport, therefore there is a high risk of injury even if followed by an instructor and the participant is wearing protective gear. 

  2. All Skate Parks open to the public at 12:00 pm. All campers will be sharing the skatepark with the public. It is common for patrons of the skatepark to bump into each other.

  3. Miscellaneous items and skateboard equipment left unattended could become lost or stolen. THE SKATESIDE nor the Skate Park are responsible for lost or stolen items. Valuable items should be left at home and never brought to camp.

  4. Students can be REMOVED from Camp (with no refund) for the following:

  • Refusing to wear safety equipment

  • Bullying

  • Not following safety protocol

  • Not cooperating with staff
