BEHAVIOR GUIDELINES
BEHAVIOURS GUIDELINE
We expect campers to act respectfully at all times when they are on our property or participating in our programs. Campers need to behave in a mature and responsible way. They need to respect the rights and dignity of others.
THE SKATESIDE Five Core Values:
SAFETY: Wear protective gear at all times (Helmet, wrist guards, elbow pads, and knee pads).
RESPECT: Themselves, each other, the park, and the staff.
TEAMWORK: We are all part of the same team. We work together to help each other.
ENCOURAGEMENT: Always use encouraging words and it will strengthen your relationship with others.
FUN: By following these 4 rules above we will always have fun.
Campers should talk to a counselor or any camp staff member if they are uncomfortable with any experiences or need assistance while at camp.
BULLYING POLICY
At THE SKATESIDE, bullying is inexcusable, and we have a firm policy against all types of bullying. Each camper is expected to treat all other campers with respect and to help each other achieve the best possible experience. If a camper has difficulty meeting this expectation, parents may be called to assist.
Our staff addresses any and all incidents of bullying seriously and we train our staff to promote communication between staff and campers. We work together as a team to ensure that campers gain self-confidence, make new friends, and go home with a positive experience.
PROCEDURE FOR MISCONDUCT
-
We remind students daily of Camp Rules.
-
When a student doesn’t behave appropriately or is uncooperative, we inform them of the appropriate behavior.
-
If a student continues with the misconduct, we will inform their parents and document the incident.
-
If the misconduct continues after the parent has been informed, we will remove the student from the camp and no refund will be issued.
